You can't have progress without a little mess. All I will say, is that I must be making lots of progress. The challenges of balancing life as a student, employee, Christian singles leader, and volunteer of several community causes really keeps me going and going and going... but even the energizer bunny must occasionally take a break. I took some down time to do resume building and website linking Monday. Very few people knew 30 years ago, that we would be able to do so much online. One thing that comes to mind is all the gas money and time it can save from running into town as often. Though we connect thru Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, Pinterest, and many more types of social media... just how connected to other living breathing human beings are we? Due to the ability to quickly reach many others at one time, does society socialize in person as much as 30 years ago or is technology taking the place, or maybe even the face of human interaction. Be sure to take time to breath and keep in touch with your human side. Do an outdoor activity, see nature, feel the sun, play with a pet, but most of all talk with a friend or smile at a stranger.

Capital Arts is having a Soup Bowl glazing party. The bowls are being painted to sell, full of soup, for a Salvation Army fundraiser to help end hunger in our community on August 2nd. Everyone around the Jefferson City area is invited to come to the gallery starting at noon on Friday. You don't have to be an artist, though all of our local artists are encouraged to attend. Please come and join me in helping us finish this project, to you can add your personal touch, so the bowls will all be unique. You must get there by 3pm, so you will have time to finish putting 2 coats of glaze on your bowl. The Capital Arts gallery is located at 1203 Missouri Blvd in Jefferson City, MO and the phone number is (573)635-8355.
